Sounds: Frog Eyes and The Evangelicals Thursday at Club Deville

10 06 2008

Frog Eyes is one of those bands we’ve longed to see live, but never seemed to have the opportunity until now. And they’re playing at the great Club Deville? Decision made. We’re there. If you haven’t been to Club Deville you should really take this time to get acquainted with it (and that big ass rock out back) and to catch what we hope will be a great show.

In Pitchfork’s review of Frog Eyes’ last album, Tears of the Valedictorian, the reviewer suggests the band’s street cred may be thanks to a famous former member (who we are huge fans of… btw), rather than the value of their music, but you be the juge. Our opinion? We likes.

We will also bear witness to opening bands Evangelicals and White Hinterland. The Evangelicals have a few great tracks and Pitchfork gave them an 8.3 review on their latest album The Evening Descends, for whatever that’s worth to ya.
