Pretty Pictures: Art Palace Artist Reception

20 06 2008

Oh, Art.  Such an all-encompassing word. Like “Love” or “Fuck.” It can mean so so many different things.

Poop in a jar?  ART!

Trash hotglued to a poster board? ART!

But, though many times we have been burned, we still believe in you, Art! We know you’re out there. And Art Palace seems to be a good place to get your fix on the East Side. We’re not experts (in general, we like anything with pretty colors and/or animals in sweaters…), but we like what they’ve got going on over there this month.  From June 21 to July 19 they’ll be showing works by Erin Curtis, Jules Cuck Jones, Jonathan Marshall and Erick Michaud in an exhibition they’re calling “The Longest Day of the Year.”

Erin Curtis:

There’s an artist reception on June 21 from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. Sounds like a perfect opportunity to check out this awesome back yard of theirs! Otherwise, they are open Wednesdays from 7pm to 9 pm, Saturdays from 12 pm to 5pm and by private appointment.
