Austin hosts the second annual D.I.Y. Festival & Homeless Benefit
Winter assistance drive collects beanies, gloves, and toiletries for area homeless.

Showcasing thirty five local crafters, independent publishers, social justice & community groups, and bands, Austin will host the return of last year’s inaugural Acknowledge Me:

Saturday Dec 6th 8:00 p.m.-2:00 a.m. Mohawk, 912 Red River St.

The annual DIY festival was created by iLoveMikeLitt and Good Looking Booking as a way to draw attention to and bring unity among Austin’s indie community.

Acknowledge Me continues as a platform to raise awareness of local Homeless Issues. This year, the event will supplement House the Homeless’ winter drive for Beanies and Gloves as well as the ARCH’s (Austin Resource Center for the Homeless) need for toiletries. Regular admission is $5 with any of these donation items. Admission is $6 without an item.

Bands playing at the event are The Persimmons, The Golden Boys, When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth, Pataphysics, and Literature.

Also, acrobatic balancing will be performed by Popsy Purvy.
