East Austin on Downtown: As Austin as it Gets
23 09 2008A reader sent us a link to this video on Downtown. It highlights a little about what is happening in East Austin at the moment. See below for a little about Downtown.
The Action Figure guys are fabulous. We interviewed them for Rare, and there’s a story on them in this month’s “film” issue (rareaustin.com). I believe the Downtown series is Emmy-winning, too?
Thanks for posting about this website! It is very interesting and I’ve published it in my blog, also adding a link to yours.
We added you to our Flickr the other day and you asked about our band. However, we have other things we’d like to talk to you about and will email east austinite very soon.
Until then, keep posting away.
As one of the producers of the show, thanks for posting! This segment, the Gentrification one, was just nominated for a 2008 Lone Star EMMY. You may want to look at the other 142 segments as well, there are some other fun ones about East Austin – Leal’s, Low Rider bicycles and others.
Tolly… awesome.. we will pick up an issue of Rare soon. Our friend is actually the design director. Small world. (Not really.. everyone knows everyone in Austin!)
Rose… yeah the band sounds great. Love us some indie pop. Email us when you get the chance, eastaustinite@gmail.com, we always look forward to thoughts and ideas.
Molly… great job on the segment. Put’s things in perspective for us. We will be checking out your other segments soon…
